Christy Dervishi - IB Curriculum Director
Christy Dervishi - IB Curriculum Director Christy Loop Dervishi is from the United States of America and has a Master’s Degree in International Education from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She has both Primary and Secondary teaching credentials in several subjects. She has taught Primary, Middle and High School classes over the last 24 years and has been in leadership and curriculum development for over 10 years.  
Christy will be responsible for the IB curriculum from Crèche through secondary. She will be instrumental in our journey to be an IB World School and will coordinate both the Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme. She is a workshop leader and school visitor for the International Baccalaureate in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East and has worked in schools around the USA and in Thailand. 
Christy has been living in Albania since 2015. There she was the Deputy Head of Secondary and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator throughout the process of candidacy and authorization of the IB PYP and MYP. She has three children and is married to our Albanian Language teacher, Donald Dervishi, who is covering Ms. Argjenta Maliqi while she is on maternity leave.
Mirjeta Zymeri - Teaching and Learning Coordinator/ Secondary Science and Math Teacher
Mirjeta Zymeri - Teaching and Learning Coordinator/ Secondary Science and Math Teacher Mirjeta Kadriu Zymeri spent the last six years teaching Chemistry, Math and AP Chemistry at American School of Kosovo. Recently she  finished training for certification in AP Chemistry subject from College Board in USA, where inquiry-based labs allow students to think and act like scientists. She was the AP Chemistry Key Teacher where she was organizing, managing, and implementing all standardized testing, including training of staff, maintaining accurate and complete records, coordinating distribution, administering tests in accordance with the established test calendar, providing and completing all test documents to the Department of Testing as per the established deadlines. She also coordinated and supervised collection and administration of data needed for the purposes of reporting, planning, and decision-making as it relates to Advanced Placement students. Ms. Mirjeta also served as the Head of Science Department for four years. Ms Mirjeta was working as a curriculum developer, at Universum were she spend time meeting administrators, reviewing student test data, observing teachers in the classroom and occasionally instructing teachers on new instructional methods. Raising standardized test scores was an overarching goal of her. In an effort to raise scores, she often charged with explaining new standards to teachers, and assisting them in using the appropriate technology during their lesson plans. Ms. Mirjeta used to teach Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Physiology to high school students at “Universum”. Ms. Mirjeta is also serving as a mentor for Education USA Kosovo College Prep Club (CPC), as a Teacher trainer for EdUSA Teachers Academy, teacher’s training accredited by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MEST) for the professional development and licensing of teachers at American and Advising Center Pristina. Mrs. Zymeri has participated in different professional development training such as the training of Critical Thinking in Reading and Writing designed and administered by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. She is also certified as a TOEFL / SAT instructor from American Advising Center. She recently spent a semester at JAMK University in Jyväskylä, Finland as an exchange student and shadow teacher while studying her second Master’s Degree in Education. Driven by the quote: “One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world”, by Malala Yousafzai, she believes that children are a gift and possess diverse talents and capabilities. She considers it a privilege to help facilitate their learning and academic growth. She also believes that each student learns in their own way and style. By doing this, she hopes to install in them a desire to become lifelong learners. Her professional aim as a teacher and a school leader is to be remembered as a kind-hearted, committed and knowledgeable educator. She has dedicated herself to becoming a lifelong educator and learner, and she strives to install a similar desire in all of the students with whom she works.
Rachel MacKinnon - Executive Director
Rachel MacKinnon - Executive Director Ms. Rachel MacKinnon holds a Master of Arts in Education Management: International Schools from Oxford Brookes University and a Bachelor's of Education Degree (BEd) with Honours from the University of Plymouth. She has experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Since 2005, Ms. Rachel has served as a workshop leader, school visitor, and consultant in the IB Educator Network. Ms. Rachel also has experience with the Cambridge International, British National, and Australian National Curriculums. Officially trained as a CIS/WASC/NCCT accreditation team member, she has served as an Accreditation Officer. She is familiar with AdvancED, is a member of the Academy for International School Heads (AISH) and serves as the President of the newly formed Kosovo International Schools' Association (KISA). Ms. Rachel also serves on the Board at an international school in Cairo, Egypt. Ms Rachel is fortunate enough to have lived in Albania, Australia, China, England, Germany, Greece, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, The Bahamas, USA, Wales, Zambia and now, Kosovo!
Diana Ibrahimi - Early Years 3 Teaching Assistant
Diana Ibrahimi - Early Years 3 Teaching Assistant Diana Ibrahimi was raised in Preshevë. She received her Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from the South East European University of Tetova. Prior to joining ILG School, she had been working as an EFL teacher in a primary school in Preshava. In March 2019 she received her Master's Degree in English Language Teaching Methodology as SEE University in Tetova. She loves learning new languages and exploring new cultures. Diana is very pleased to be part of the ILG School staff and is excited to share her experiences with her new students.
Sunar Suleyman - Teaching Assistant
Sunar Suleyman - Teaching Assistant Sunar Suleyman born and grew up in Prishtina, Kosovo. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English language and Literature in AAB University, Faculty of Foreign Languages. Her Master’s degree at the same field is ongoing. She is also TOEFL and SAT certificated instructor. She has been working as a English Language teacher since 2008. She worked in Apple English School from 2008 to 2010 as an English teacher with different groups of children from Pre-K to grade 10. Then she moved to International School of Prishtina where she used to teach 6, 7 and 8 graders from 2011 to 2017. At 2018 she started to work at ILG School in the Pre-K. She has a fluent language proficiency in Albanian, Turkish and Serbian language. Working with children is her greatest fulfillment. She teaches them, but she learns so much from them as well. This is the only way for her to expand her overall knowledge in teaching and a motivation to achieve as much as she can on the road she is headed to.
Besiana Pllana - Finance and Admin Assistant
Besiana Pllana - Finance and Admin Assistant Besiana holds a Bachelor Degree in Management and Informatics, and is in the process of getting her Masters Degree in Financial Markets and Banks in Riinvest College, Prishtine. Besiana has been with Ilg in the position of Admin and Finance Assistant since August 2017. She enjoys reading, traveling, beekeeping and cooking. 
What she loves the most about ILG is it's diversity and for her ILG feels like home! 
Adrijana Petrovic - Early Years 1 Teacher
Adrijana Petrovic - Early Years 1 Teacher Adrijana Petrovic joined ILG School in 2012. She is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology - American University in Kosovo. She is currently studying a Master of Arts in Education (Innovation in Learning and Teaching) at the University of South Wales, UK. She is passionate about working with pre-schoolers and believes in teaching life skills in addition to an age-appropriate curriculum. Adrijana enjoys her volunteer work with a variety of non-governmental organizations.  Adrijana loves to learn languages and already speaks English, Albanian, Serbian, Macedonian, and a little Italian and Spanish. Adrijana has been chosen to represent ILG School and Kosovo at the International Pedagogical Forum (IPF)  in November 2019. The IPF is a platform for education professionals to exchange their methods, ideas, and experience and search for solutions to global challenges through education of future generations.10 teachers from each country have been invited to participate. Adrijana’s topic is “how to incorporate playing and learning and make circle time fun, interactive and engaging; how to include the parents in the teaching process, make them feel important and helpful. (Creating the parent-teacher-student triangle.)   
Donika Hamiti - Teaching Assistant
Donika Hamiti - Teaching Assistant Donika Hamiti recently joined ILG School as a nurse and a pre-school teaching assistant. She graduated from the University of Prishtina with a Bachelor's degree in nursing, and she has almost completed her Master's Degree in Health Management. During her studies she has worked in pediatric hospital and she is very happy to be part of this wonderful community and make it not only her job but her passion. She has been working with children for over ten years now and she loves watching and helping children reach their greatest potential. Outside of school she loves traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Florentina Kuqaj - Grade 4 Teaching Assistant
Florentina Kuqaj - Grade 4 Teaching Assistant Florentina Kuqaj holds a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in English Language and Literature with a specialization in general English from AAB University, Prishtina. She has almost three years of teaching experience and previously worked at PHS where she taught ESL, ASL, and PE.In the past, she was a translator for almost seven years from Albanian to English and vice-versa. From a young age she has been working with children from different ages and different cultures. She loves learning new languages and exploring new cultures. Her hobbies are dance, travel, and sport. Florentina is very pleased to be part of ILG school and excited to share her experiences with the children.
Donjeta Shatri - Grade 1 Teacher
Donjeta Shatri - Grade 1 Teacher Donjeta Shatri holds a BA degree in Primary Education from the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Education. She joined ILG as a Second Grade Teaching Assistant. Prior to ILG, Ms Donjeta volunteered in the non-governmental organization The Ideas Partnership as a fifth grade teacher. She has worked at American School of Kosova and Bedri Gjinaj Elementary School in Mitrovica, Kosova. Ms Donjeta finds childhood memories as either the fondest ones or the ones that you dread most of all to remember.The force of these memories also suggest that the roles of  the teachers are ever so vital in the life of a child. Ms Donjeta plays for the Balkan Lynx Rugby Club in Prishtina  and she is the coach of the Fushe Kosova Children’s Rugby Club.When she is not teaching, she loves doing sports.
Vlona Maloku - Physical Education Assistant
Vlona Maloku - Physical Education Assistant I was born and raised in Slovenia. I have a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Sports from the University of Prishtina. I am in the process of finishing my master's degree this year. I was a professional table tennis player and played for the Slovenian national team and later for the Kosovo national team.Being a professional player, I had the opportunity to travel the world and to learn new things about different cultures. I joined ILG in 2017 as the PE assistant. I also own a little gym called 'BeFit' for children where our goal is developing motor skills and bringing joy to children.
Haxhrije Gubetini - Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
Haxhrije Gubetini - Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher Haxhrije Miftari Gubetini graduated from the University of Prishtina, Philological branch, with a Bachelor's degree in the German Language. She has been with ILG School since 2009. In 2008 she worked at QSI as an assistant in Pre-kindergarten. Haxhrije used to work as a German language teacher in different language learning schools around Prishtina and worked in “Gothe Institut” as a questioner in A1+A2 levels from 2005. Haxhrije is actually a nurse by profession. She is the mother of three children, so in other words, working with the children is what she does the best!

Mirlinda Kusari - Elementary School Teaching Assistant Mirlinda Kusari has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology from University of Prishtina. After a few years of experience in administration she joined ILG in 2009. Mirlinda has been part of major developments of the school and continues to contribute not only administering the 'student lifecycle' from registration or admission to graduation or leaving, but also to the academic coordination and substitute teaching. Mirlinda strives to facilitate communication and include each and every stakeholder of the wonderful ILG community.Mirlinda has been chosen to represent ILG School and Kosovo at the International Pedagogical Forum (IPF)  in November 2019. Doruntina Rama - Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Doruntina has a Bachelor's degree in Faculty of Pedagogy, from the University of Prishtina. She started to work with children in 2015 as a preschool teacher, where she shaped her experience while learning from children and vice versa. She thinks that the most important thing, is to give children enough space to express themselves and to guide them through wonderful possibilities that our school presents. It is her goal to combine my range of experience with her ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic teacher who will make a positive contribution to this school at a time and larger community on the long run.
Donald Dervishi - Albanian Language and Literature Teacher
Donald Dervishi - Albanian Language and Literature Teacher Donald Dervishi holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Albanian Language and Literature from University “Eqrem Çabej” in Gjirokastër, Albania. He has almost nine years of experience in teaching and almost two years as a Director of School in Skrapar, Albania. He is an active member of his community and enjoys leading outdoor excursions such as hikes and mountaineering with friends and students. He is an activist for social responsibility and won the European Civic Union Volunteer of the Year award in 2018, for his work in constructing a school in a village near his hometown of Therepel, Albania. Mr. Dervishi held the position of Albanian Language and Literature Teacher and Lead Teacher when he accepted the opportunity to teach at ILG School.
Albina Ahmeti - Early Years 2 Teacher
Albina Ahmeti - Early Years 2 Teacher Albina Ahmeti was raised in Prishtina. She has a Bachelor's degree in Child Care and Welfare for students in the Pre-school age range. Albina has been working with children since she was 18 years old. She has worked as a teacher in medical high school and as a dental assistant for the last five years. Albina also worked with the Play For All festival for children. Her career is focused on teaching and she believes that every child is a different kind of flower and should be treated carefully. Albina loves dogs and cooking.
Albulena Stublla - French Language Acquisition Teacher
Albulena Stublla - French Language Acquisition Teacher Albulena earned a Bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature and the University of Prishtina and completed one year of a Master's degree in French as a Second and Foreign Language at Aix en Provence. She has been a member of ILG since 2012. Albulena is also a French language instructor at the Alliance Francaise in Prishtina. She is an expert in crepe making, enjoys creating crafts, and adores science fiction movies, especially Star Wars. Que la force soit avec toi!
Vlora Limani - Music Teacher
Vlora Limani - Music Teacher Vlora Limani joined ILG School as our music teacher in 2013. Vlora received a Bachelor's degree in Music Theory and Pedagogy at the AAB University in Prishtina. Vlora worked in local public schools for three years before joining ILG School.  She also worked at a local private music school. Vlora loves to encourage children to find their inner musician. She also loves dancing and traveling.

Rita Gjonbalaj - Elementary School Teacher Assistant (3rd Grade) Rita Gjonbalaj joined ILG School in 2015 as the Grade 4 Assistant. Rita received her Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Prishtina. She has five years of experience as an English language learner teacher. Currently, she is enrolled in a Master's degree in English Language and Literature at the AAB Univeristy in Prishtina. Rita brings the experience as a English language learner teacher to the international body of students at ILG School. Rita joined ILG in 2015.

Hasnija Moesman - Crèche and Toddlers' Teacher
Hasnija Moesman - Crèche and Toddlers' Teacher Haska Prelvukaj-Moesman received her university degree in architecture from the University of Pristina. Haska’s career in architecture was sidetracked when she had the opportunity to work and live abroad in the Gaza Strip, Solomon Islands, and Sudan. This experience laid the foundation for where she is now as a teacher. Haska became involved in an elementary school in Gizo, Solomon Islands, that was accommodated in a UNICEF tent after the 2007 earthquake that hit the island state, as a volunteer teacher. Later, when she moved to Khartoum, she served as library assistant, learning center, substitute teacher, and pre-school homeroom teacher at the Khartoum American School. In addition, Haska was the President of the PTA of the same school for four years. Haska and her husband have two children. Haska loves traveling, as well as gardening and spending time with the family in the family home in Montenegro.    
Arjanita Dinosha - English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher
Arjanita Dinosha - English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher Arjanita Dinosha received her Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Prishtina. She is currently working on her Master's degree, also in English language. She has five years of experience in teaching English language learners students before she came to ILG in 2012. Arjanita enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and cooking.
Arlinda Maloku - Individuals and Societies Teacher
Arlinda Maloku - Individuals and Societies Teacher Arlinda Maloku received a Bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Pristina. She is currently taking a Masters degree course in the sociology of education at the University of Pristina. 
Prior to joining ILG School in 2012, Arlinda worked in international development with a number of international non-governmental organizations, focussing her expertise on socio-economic development. Arlinda has lived and studied in Finland, Norway and the U.S. She loves working with young children and sharing her experiences with different cultures in the classroom with the children. 
Fjolla Dumani - English Language and Literature Teacher
Fjolla Dumani - English Language and Literature Teacher Fjolla received her Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Prishtina and is currently finishing a Master’s Degree in English Language and American Literature at Dardania College, Prishtina. After teaching at local schools as an English Language Learners teacher for two years, Fjolla joined ILG School in 2010 teaching language arts and science to Grades 2-4. Her hobbies include teaching Zumba, learning new languages, and hiking.

Argjenta Maliqi - Albanian Language Teacher Argjenta Maliqi has a Bachelor’s degree in Albanian Literature and a Master’s of Education for Teaching and Curriculum from the University of Prishtina. Argjenta was a teacher for few years at a local daycare before joining ILG School in 2012 as a preschool assistant teacher.  Argjenta believes that the age group she teaches is fun and adorable. She strives to provide the best education and care. 
Albulena Beqiri - Pre-Kindergarten Teacher
Albulena Beqiri - Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Albulena Beqiri joined ILG School in 2011 and feels as though ILG School is is her second home. After spending one year as a preschool assistant, Abulena set out to become a preschool lead teacher. She graduated from University of Business and Technology - Computer Science, followed by Master's degree studies in General Pedagogy with the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina.  Albulena started working with children at a young age and while observing their different behaviors decided to seek a career to help them become awesome human beings. She believes a child's education is the most valuable thing in the world! Albulena's hobbies include socializing with her friends, traveling to new countries, and playing Soduku with her very fun, competitive grandfather. Albulena is known in her family as a "great chef", because she spends a good amount of time cooking and exploring new recipes!

Besarta Isufi - Toddlers Teacher Assistant Besarta Isufi has been working with children for over 10 years and enjoys the opportunity to watch them grow and flourish. Besarta is enrolled in Master’s degree program in the Management of Education at AAB University, Prishtina. Beasarta has been an assistant teacher in the toddler program at ILG School since 2011.
Korab Maloku - Physical Education Teacher
Korab Maloku - Physical Education Teacher Korab joined ILG School as the physical education teacher in 2014.  He has a Master's degree in Physical Educations and Sports from the University of Prishtina. He has experience as a youth basketball coach since March 2010.  Korab participated in several basketball clinics and seminars in Kosovo and abroad.  He also participates in the Independent Organization of Sport Education in Kosovo OESK.  Korab is a certified ski instructor and a former professional basketball player.
Delvina Blakçori - Early Years 3 Teacher
Delvina Blakçori - Early Years 3 Teacher Delvina Blakçori is a pre-school education graduate from University of Prishtina – Faculty of Education. She was educated in private schools in Kosovo during her middle and high school years. She is currently completing her Master’s Degree in the field of Inclusive Education from the University of Prishtina. She is a teacher who loves her job and does things passionately by keeping in mind the children’s needs, interests, and desires. Her goal is to have happy children in the classroom, who feel comfortable and confident to develop learning skills naturally.

Zylfie Rama - Housekeeper  Zylfia has worked at ILG since its early days.  Zylfia's responsibilities include keeping  the school clean and tidy.  She also helps us to serve the lunches every day.  We value sunny personality and willingness to go above and beyond her duties to help keep our school in good shape.
